The Woodworking courses are an eco-friendly series where we skill build and reuse timbers.
In the Woodworking: The Next Step 2 day course children aged 10+ will add to their skill base by making a more complex project.
The project chosen will include confident thinking while ensuring the children enjoy the making process. The two days will be challenging and filled with learning new skills. Shelf units for any bedroom are a real asset to have. In this 2 day course we’re giving kids the chance to make and decorate their own small shelving unit for their wall.
This is a hands-on course where your child will learn new and valuable skills in working with recycled timber. Each day’s skills building on the next. They will learn various woodworking techniques and correct use of standard woodworking tools along with good health and safety practices included.
We have designed creative ways of repurposing items into projects that are creative and that children will enjoy making.Children will get to use and decorate their items using Pyrography Pens, the art of wood burning or poker work.
This course is for children who have previously attended a 3-day Woodworking – Waste to Wonder Course. NO beginners please!
This course is for children aged 10+. Please do not register children under the age of 10 in this class.
Due to the nature of this course it is only suited for children who can participate comfortably in a group environment. If your child has challenging behavior please consider whether this setting will be suitable for their learning and enjoyment. If you have any concerns or questions about the workshop’s suitability, please reach out to our programmes manager who will be more than happy to assist you in finding the most appropriate workshop for your child.
John is a fully qualified trades person and public sector teacher. He has worked in several local schools in the technical/trade departments.
