A Foodies Dream
Our cultural diverse area offers a wide variety of different food restaurants, cafes and takeaways.
We are fortunate to have a variety of cafes and restaurants through the region. Pakuranga Plaza has Porterhouse Grill, Half Moon Bay has Grangers, Eastern Beach has Gorkha, Howick Village has many to choose from including The Apothecary, Daisy Chang, The Good Home, Basalt, The Corner and Indian Kitchen.
Closer to Botany is the historic Hawthorn Dene Country Café which is hidden away off the main road and a breath of country air in suburbia. Ormiston has the Ormiston Café. 9 Bowls Eatery is in East Tamaki. The Stables in Whitford is a regular meeting place for locals, and Whitford Merchants right next door has a great array of food products and unusual alcohol which are great for a special occasion or gift. Relaxing at Pepperjacks enjoying stunning views across the marina, and the amazing Rydges Formosa Golf Resort both at Pine Harbour and The Franklin at Beachlands. Head out to Clevedon and visit the Hallertau Pub and its craft brewery.
The Howick Village Market on a Saturday morning, and the Clevedon Farmers Market on a Sunday morning offer fresh, locally produced food and products. Local night markets at Botany and Pakuranga, Gooch Place in Meadowlands and China Town on Ti Rakau serve a diverse range of food reflecting a wide range of ethnicities that enrich our region
