2022 Auckland Heritage Festival

We held two organ recitals in Howick’s iconic All Saints Church performed by supertalented Helen Lukman-Fox.  These events were extremely enjoyable and informative with time to peek behind the scenes at the workings of the Tracker Organ.  Incorporating music from the times of the Fencibles it commemorated the 175 anniversary of their arrival at Howick in 1847.

The 175th anniversary of Fencible Settler Soldiers to Howick Village was celebrated with a number of events including a community Day at the Beach and an Anniversary luncheon held at the Howick Pakuranga Community Sports Centre

East Auckland Experiences with Time Unlimited

Thanks to the Local Activation Fund Programme and a great collaborative relationship with us, Time Unlimited Tours were able to promote wider East Auckland to a range of new visitors.  The various locations visited were Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, Clevedon Village Market, Clevedon Creatives + Co, Clevedon Village Farmers Market, NZ Warbirds, Howick Historical Village, Howick Village’s Garden of Memories and Ayrlies Garden.

Thanks to Time Unlimited for bringing these great tours to fruition and showcasing our region so well.

Discover Howick Village with White Glove Experiences

The Local Activation Fund Programme made it possible to bring four fantastic tours to Howick free of charge.  All tours sold out with 25 people each day on a discovery of Howick Village, its art, food, beach, and heritage.  We visited Stockade Hill, Art Lounge NZ, Saturday morning market, Howick Beach, Shamrock Cottage, All Saints Church, Uxbridge Arts & Culture, Apothecary Licensed Eatery, The Good Home, Basalt and Urban in East.  Artists Dalene Meiring, Karen Symons, Merv Appleton and Jane Allnatt provided some insight into their art works.

Thanks to White Glove Experiences for your close collaboration with us to bring these tours to fruition, and for sharing our region with Aucklanders from near and far.

A Whale of a Time out East

4 large WWF Whale Tales reached East Auckland and were seen in Howick, Botany, Pine Harbour and East Tamaki.  7 mini tails were also on view at Uxbridge Arts & Culture then they all were moved to Silo Park for a mass exhibition before their final auction and relocation to their forever homes.

East Auckland Art Trail 2021 / Elemental Akl

East Auckland Art Trail during Elemental highlighted the amazing artistic talent in the region. Involved in this Trail were Uxbridge Art & Culture, NZ Art Lounge Auckland, Te Tuhi, Howick Art Group, Polish Heritage Museum, Howick Historical Museum, Brookby Barn, Clevedon Creatives + Co., Joel Nicholls, Merve Appleton, finishing the Trail with Disco on Ice at Paradice Entertainment.  With a range of live art demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions and entertainment this Trail proved to be a success, and the first of many more to come.

The evening opened with thought-provoking and inspirational words from Christopher Luxon on the future of tourism in East Auckland, followed by an update from ATEED by Zac Watson. MC was our very capable Chairman, Andrew Laing, who did us proud. Our guests included the stars of our videos, and also representatives of a variety of different local organisations and businesses.

East Auckland Tourism was founded.

East Auckland Tourism was established, initially called Howick Tourism by the request of the Howick Local Board.
