Introducing a food event out East collaborating with many Howick eateries

With a wide range of activities, galleries, workshops and more happening in East Auckland during July we encourage the community to get out and explore

As prt of a recent project we created a digital map covering the Franklin Coastal Loop.  We look forward to many Aucklanders and visitors exploring this amazing region.  Thanks to the Franklin Local Board for their support.

Despite a very wet day the community came out to shine on Howick for an amazing day in Howick and the Santa Parade.  

We held two organ recitals in Howick’s iconic All Saints Church performed by supertalented Helen Lukman-Fox.  These events were extremely enjoyable and informative with time to peek behind the scenes at the workings of the Tracker Organ.  Incorporating music from the times of the Fencibles it commemorated the 175 anniversary of their arrival at Howick in 1847.

The 175th anniversary of Fencible Settler Soldiers to Howick Village was celebrated with a number of events including a community Day at the Beach and an Anniversary luncheon held at the Howick Pakuranga Community Sports Centre

Thanks to the Local Activation Fund Programme and a great collaborative relationship with us, Time Unlimited Tours were able to promote wider East Auckland to a range of new visitors.  The various locations visited were Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, Clevedon Village Market, Clevedon Creatives + Co, Clevedon Village Farmers Market, NZ Warbirds, Howick Historical Village, Howick Village’s Garden of Memories and Ayrlies Garden.

Thanks to Time Unlimited for bringing these great tours to fruition and showcasing our region so well.

Updated the Howick Local Board, and thanked them for their support as we discussed our successful promotion of East Auckland during the first six months of 2022

Collaborating with Tataki Auckland Unlimited some East Auckland businesses were included in their Winter campaigns

We are thrilled to have a new East Auckland Visitor Map to promote our fantastic region.  Thanks to the Howick Local Board for their funding for this project, to Clare, Reay and the Times Media team for their collaboration and support and for producing another fantastic product.  Also thanks to Britta from Saxer Design for her valuable input and for letting us use some of her stunning photography.

Our website homepage has been updated with links to the new Regional Visitor Maps making them very easy to find.  Discover our amazing East Auckland.

4 large WWF Whale Tales reached East Auckland and were seen in Howick, Botany, Pine Harbour and East Tamaki.  7 mini tails were also on view at Uxbridge Arts & Culture then they all were moved to Silo Park for a mass exhibition before their final auction and relocation to their forever homes.

With year ended 30 June 2021 completed with our AGM held recently we said farewell to a difficult year.  We would like to sincerely thank the Howick Local Board for their ongoing support again this year with a variety of projects.  

The support of our Local Boards is essential for East Auckland to better keep locals supporting local and attract visitors to our region to enjoy what our businesses have to offer and to contribute to the local economy.

We would like to thank the Howick Local Board for their continued support of East Auckland Tourism and all we strive to achieve, and to Franklin Local Board for their support with our important website improvements that we undertook during the 2020-2021 financial year.

Without the support or our Local Boards we would not be able to promote the region to locals and potential visitors, essential for a thriving local economy.

East Auckland Art Trail during Elemental highlighted the amazing artistic talent in the region. Involved in this Trail were Uxbridge Art & Culture, NZ Art Lounge Auckland, Te Tuhi, Howick Art Group, Polish Heritage Museum, Howick Historical Museum, Brookby Barn, Clevedon Creatives + Co., Joel Nicholls, Merve Appleton, finishing the Trail with Disco on Ice at Paradice Entertainment.  With a range of live art demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions and entertainment this Trail proved to be a success, and the first of many more to come.

NZ Herald Go East promotion

Launch of a Summer Competition on behalf of our members in the NZ Herald

We had a fantastic launch of our new promotional videos highlighting our amazing region. The evening opened with thought-provoking and inspirational words from Christopher Luxon on the future of tourism in East Auckland, followed by an update from ATEED by Zac Watson. MC was our very capable Chairman, Andrew Laing, who did us proud. Our guests included the stars of our videos, and also representatives of a variety of different local organisations and businesses.

Great opportunity to network with other operators and hotel concierges at the Les Clefs Dór Meet the Region for key stakeholders to promote their tourism products/regions
