Musick Point Coastal Stroll
Distance:
7.2 kms

This is a low tide walk around the peninsular, which is slippery so really only suitable for good walkers. For an easier and cleaner walk do the Halfmoon Bay to the Howick Golf Course walk.
This coastal stroll around Musick Point obviously needs to be done when the tide is going or is already out. You don’t want to get too wet so timing is important so do make sure you have enough time to get back up to dry ground before the water is back in. The views of Browns Island and Rangitoto are quite spectacular. Interesting rock formations.
The end is popular with fishermen so if you are keen to do some environmental cleanup then looking out for and removing old fishing tackle is always appreciated.

Our Tip:
Wear suitable shoes as it is muddy and can be very slippery. Hiking boots are ideal and a hiking pole for extra security on those slippery areas. When near the golfers do keep alert for little white flying objects and get through the golf course as quickly and safely as possible.
