The Hunua Ranges is a vast region with many walks and tracks.  You can enjoy a quick visit or spend a few days and camp.

We started the morning at the Clevedon Village Farmers Market where we had brunch, and we also bought some delicious deli items to enjoy later.  En route to Hunua we stopped in Clevedon and popped into Clevedon Creatives + Co as they had some new products and an exhibition by a new artist.  We are crazy about house plants and popped into Prickly Pots where we were seriously tempted to buy a new plant.

On to Hunua through the lovely Clevedon countryside.  It is a hilly drive but lovely.  When we arrived we strolled down to the falls for a good view close up.  There were some people swimming and having a lot of fun.  Heading to the bridge we decided our walking would be not too strenuous on this gorgeous sunny Summer’s day.  We walked across the bridge down to the right to the other side of the falls for a close look, then back again and up to the lookout.  That was lovely and a great view of the falls.  Heading on we took the route to Cossey’s dam but we didnt cross the river, and when we got there we turned around and went back to the main carpark.  It was a very pleasant walk and being a hot day was lovely in the shade.

On the way home we decided to pop into Brookby Barn for a coffee before they close.  Such a lovely spot, and with some great gift and arts exhibited as well as a pleasant cafe.
