Eastern Beach To Little Bucklands
Distance:
8.3 kms
Approximate time: 2 hrs 30 mins

The Bucklands Beach peninsular is pretty spectacular with incredible views, and great swimming.
This walk is all along the beach/coastline so can only be done at low tide – so do time it well so you can enjoy it fully. You will see some really interesting geological formations from volcanic activity and strata in the cliffs, as well as the unfortunate results of weather activity and erosion to private property.
Eastern Beach has great views of the Hauraki Gulf islands including Waiheke as well as across to the Coromandel. From Musick Point you see Browns Island and behind it iconic Rangitoto, and across to Takapuna and Devonport. Musick Point is a busy spot with ferries and private boats passing by.

Our Tip:
This walk involves some clambering over rocks as well as walking on slippery formations so please wear suitable footwear and a hat, and do take care.
Things to do nearby:
With some cafes on both the Buckland Beach side and Eastern Beach you will have the opportunity to grab a drink or ice cream.
