This scenic walk and cycle way runs along the Tāmaki Estuary from Panmure Bridge to Wakaaranga Creek, and then on to Half Moon Bay Marina. A local favourite, the pathway is either boardwalk or concrete, and is reasonably flat for easy walking/cycling.
Enjoy amazing views across the Estuary to Panmure and Point England. If you are early enough you can watch local rowing teams on the water being put through their paces. It is tidal with mangroves and mud flats, and a deep chanel for boats and ferries. Do some bird watching, and admire the private homes and gardens en route.
Starting at Rotary Reserve on Pakuranga Road (opp Pakuranga Plaza) head left towards the Panmure Bridge, or right towards Farm Cove. There are plenty of signs along the way. This left path includes some interesting historical sights, including details on the original swing bridge, and remnants of the old cattle yard. A new Panmure bridge, under construction alongside the road bridge, is to relieve traffic congestion and provide a better bus service to the region.
Alternative entry points include Fisher Parade, Bramley Drive for entry to Snakes and Ladders playground, Estelle Place, Prince Regent Drive, Rapallo Place, Wakaaranga Creek Reserve and Pigeon Mountain Wetlands. There are pathways between houses from this area to the Marina, but for convenience we recommend Prince Regent Drive to to the Marina from the Wakaaranga Creek/Wetlands area.
The walking route is also great for prams/buggies and dog walkers (on leash only).

Our Tip:
Great for families, easy walking/cycling. Close to water so children must be supervised. Toilets near Snakes and Ladders Playground. Café’s both ends but nothing along the rest of the pathway. Take water/drinks and a snack particularly for the youngsters. Suggestion is have two vehicles, and park them at both ends of the walk, walking between them and enjoying a one way walk
Things to do nearby:
Te Tuhi, our local contemporary art gallery is located on Reeves Road. Te Tuhi collaborates with international organisations and their exhibits give food for thought. Enjoy some refreshments at the Half Moon Bay Marina - Grangers has great views across the water. The Howick Historical Village is worth a visit and they have a cafe and gift shop.
