A sunday drive

Ideas for your Sunday Drive

Embark on a Sunday Drive in East Auckland

Have a leisurely stroll along one of the gorgeous beaches and breakfast at one of the many restaurants.

Clevedon Village Farmers Market is a favourite Sunday location to pick up some fresh produce and perhaps a gift for that upcoming family birthday.  Clevedon Village is lovely to stroll through with quite a few shops including Clevedon Creatives which has a wide range of art works to view, and buy.  Enjoy rustic fish and chips or a restaurant meal, or grab a coffee

Ardmore is home to NZ Warbirds – and on Sundays they are busy working on their magnificent flying machines.

Restful Maraetai Beach and Omana Regional Park are all wonderful places to enjoy nature without any pressure.  If you are feeling more active and want to put in some good cardio then head for Duder Regional Park and its hills will reward you with spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf with is many islands.

Not keen to get home and cook dinner – plenty of places to stop on the way for dinner, or grap a takeaway and watch the sun go down from a beach.

A perfect Sunday.

Bucklands Beach Peninsula

Staying very local on this gorgeous Sunday we wanted a lazy drive and went to Eastern Beach first. The weather is perfect and the beach is reasonably busy with families out enjoying the hot weather and the safe swimming conditions. We had a paddle and then enjoyed ice cream from the local dairy while we watched happy children splashing in the water.

The Hunua Ranges is a vast region with many walks and tracks. You can enjoy a quick visit or spend a few days and camp.

Nestled in the Firth of Thames area with beaches edged with Pohutakawas. There are plenty of places to set up a picnic spot.
